My Visit to London's Only Corvette Dealership Clive Sutton Exotic Car Dealership While on vacation I had some time to myself to go out and investigate London's newest Chevrolet Corvette dealership. While not really a true Chevy Dealership but a Licensed Dealer by GM to sell and repair the C8 Corvettes that they now can sell to the public in the UK. I took the liberty and a little bit of luck in this undertaking as by taking an Uber to there sales room in Northern London. As I rang the doorbell to speak to someone it just kept ringing and ringing with no answer. The website stated that they were open till 6:00PM but then again most clientele are asked to make a personal appointment to consult with there desires of purchasing an exotic car. I was adamant in getting a hold of someone so I looked on the website and called there main number to which a gentleman named Jack had answered my call. I told him my name and what I was doing by stopping in to more or less shoot the crap with him over the Corvettes they were starting to sell. Well he was delighted to hear from me and that I had come in just to see how there sales were going. He came out to the street via a back entrance where there cars are stored in an underground type of garage. So after our introductions to each other we spent a good portion obviously talking about the great C8 Corvettes. Right now they are only limited to getting the Stingray, E-Ray of what's leftover I would assume, and the Z06. All though from the article they did have there hands on a few ZR1's as well. He told me that when the word went out that they would be selling Corvettes, that the inquirers were very large, but mostly people wanting to know pricing and to what they have available. I told him that I found out about this through the Corvette Today Podcast as Steve Garrett's partner Keith Cornett had mentioned it that GM just gave it's first licensing agreement to them for sales in the U.K. He was totally shocked that people now in the US found out about there new venture in selling the C8 Corvette. You can listen to the podcast by clicking on the link below We also discussed how Keith Cornnett had it written up in his Corvette Blogger web site, but you have to understand that any Corvette news is going to be mentioned so that all Corvette fans alike will know the latest news and stories. Just click on the link to see the article about Clive Sutton on selling their corvettes. Jack also informed me that they also do sell Cadillac's from GM, especially there high end models like the Escalade, and Blackwing's. When a car is sold it is also having to add in all the taxes and fees which include a 10% import duty, 20% tax, as well as the costs for making any changes so that it confirms to U.K. specs. So buying a Corvette in the UK is not going to be a cheap adventure! Cheers! Jack, Salesman for Clive Sutton Corvette Blogger.com Corvette Today Early July Episode Home
